Ingredients
- 4 slices 40 calorie light bread (it does not have to be light bread, this is just for a lower calorie version)
- 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 medium apple
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup fat free milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- optional sugar free syrup (regular syrup is fine, but it does add to the calories/carb content)
– quick tips:
-Technically you can use all the different types of fruit that you would ever want! This works well with pears really well too.
-For topping, you could use a little bit of cool whip, but honestly the glazed apple is plenty enough!

Step by Step Instructions
STEP 1
In a large skillet, saute the apple, brown sugar and cinnamon in 1/2 tablespoon butter until apple is tender or softened.
STEP 2
In a small, shallow bowl, whisk the egg, milk and vanilla. Dip both sides of bread in egg mixture.
STEP 3
In a pan, melt remaining butter over medium heat. Cook bread on both sides until golden brown. Serve with apple glaze and sugar free maple syrup if desired.
